Benita K. Chernyk, Ph.D., LICDC-CS, CEAP is a licensed clinical psychologist, licensed independent chemical dependency counselor and certified employee assistance professional.  Practicing for more than twenty-five years, she has treated patients in outpatient, inpatient, and residential treatment settings.  Her specialties include the treatment of depression and anxiety, couples therapy, dealing with sexuality issues, crisis intervention and employee wellness.  She has a special interest in women’s issues including, but not limited to post-partum depression and recovery from breast cancer.  She is experienced in treating medical problems that have psychological components, providing independent psychological evaluations for worker's compensation, VA Comp and Pen examinations, and pre-surgical psychological evaluation for gastric bypass surgery.   She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Kent State University and received a postdoctoral master’s degree in clinical psychopharmacology through Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Dr. Chernyk  became licensed as a clinical psychologist in 1991.   For more about Dr. Chernyk's credentials, click here.
